Summary

The Axcient Sales Engineer is self-motivated contributor assisting the sales organization throughout the sales process. As a Sales Engineer, you will act as a mentor and guide to our Sales team, building an educational foundation for key technical areas of Axcient solutions.

 
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform product demos of the various Axcient solutions and will include:
    • Assessing and documenting prospect environments
    • Validating the technical ‘win’ on the solution
    • Conduct in pre-sales trial setups with prospects
    • Recommend appropriate hardware and software for client environments
  • Review proposal to ensure all solution elements, software, services and managed services are properly validated against the Project Scope of Work
  • Assist in responding to RFIs/RFPs
  • Convey customer feature request and product enhancements to Development / Product Manager / Support
  • Advise on deployment processes for a smooth handoff to the onboarding team
  • Act as the sales team’s liaison to the Onboarding and Support teams
  • Attend meetings and participate in training as necessary to keep up with the sales and technical training
  • Perform periodic technical training as needed
  • Strategize with Sales on approach for site visits, product demos, and closing calls
  • Conduct in-person and virtual demonstrations and presentation at tradeshows, Lunch and Learns, conferences, trainings and other similar events

Who You Are
  • BS in Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent years of experience
  • At least 2-3 years of Sales Engineering or Technical Sales experience
  • Strong exposure to Backup Solutions, Disaster Recovery and File Sync Software *Highly desired*
  • Understanding of Hosted and On Premises technologies, as well as the network layer in between
  • Solid competency with architecture, design, and implementation of technical solutions
  • Strong experience with Windows, MacOS and Linux-based operations systems *required*
  • Experience with network/systems administration (network and software certification a plus)
  • Proven leadership skills and a desire to coach and mentor individuals in technology
  • Ability to learn quickly, self-educate and adapt in a fast-paced work environment
  • Team and customer-oriented attitude
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to present information through screen share and convey information to all levels of an organization (CEO, CTO, COO)
  • Flexibility to travel, on occasion, to client sites, lunch and learns, and trade shows – up to 25%
  • Experience and comfortability working remotely
  • Competence with virtual environments and hypervisors such VMware and Hyper-V is *required*
  • Competence with IaaS environments such as AWS, Azure and related technological knowledge and experience is *required*
  • Comfortable working hybrid

The estimated salary range for this position is : from $110,000 to $140,000 annually. Actual compensation may vary and will be based on a candidate’s qualifications, skills, and competencies.
